Ok, having Mrs. Bennet that far up in the results is nothing short of scary. Charlotte Lucas has a strange element of coolness, perhaps her fatalistic outlife on life and love has some uncanny resemblance to my own.
Oh, and just for the record, I can't stand the Kiera Knightley's portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet, in the 2005 Pride and Predjudice. I might even go so far as to say that I can't stand that adaptation of the book, or even Kiera Knightley herself. Though I do have a bit of time for the first Pirates of the Carribean movie. The others are pathetic rubbish.
(thanks to Theresa for the link to this quiz... it's cool, try it!)
I was 90% Mr Bennett, with Darcy next in line.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can certainly say that I do not like the 2005 adaption. Keira Knightly never seems to stop squinting.
Or grinning and showing her teeth RRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrr. I like some parts of that movie but it is NOT because of Miss Knightley that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat about how thin she is? Brrr... It's otherworldly!
ReplyDeleteNow, I will be most interested to know what your result is...
I agree with rivers daughter I like some parts of the movie but not her. btw that quiz is really fun! I was Charlotte Lucas (75%) and Mr Darcy (75%), although it said I was Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteI was 85% Mr. Bennett, 80% Elizabeth and 80% Mr. Darcy. How that happened I don't know....And it was a fun quiz.
ReplyDeleteI have a bit of time for the philosophising of Charlotte Lucas, but Jono and Rivers Daughter, your "Mr. Bennett score" is quite disturbing. He's pretty cruel and thoughtless, but at the same time, comes out with the odd earth-shatteringly simple and yet compelling quips and comments.
ReplyDeleteYou should try doing the quiz but answering the opposite, it's really quite funny.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry...I guess...about being a Mister Bennett. I don't think of myself as him, but then again perhaps I am like him. I can see myself reverting to a study to read books, sip wine and make snide comments about people and life in general. Hmmm I will have to ask my sister when she calls if I'm truely that way.
ReplyDeleteNot that Keira is the only thing that spoils it, one other thing that springs readily to mind is that closing scene (I think it's the closing one) in which Darcy and Elizabeth happen to meet in the field at dawn in their night clothes. So infinitely inferior to the, more or less, parallel scene in the better film when they are walking along that lane. Quite an immortal lane, really.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! That scene is completely Horrible! However, I don't like the scene from the other movie a whole lot either. Were not Elizabeth and Mr Darcy supposed to be fast walkers? But no, we see them walking slowly down the lane, so slow that Jane and Mr Bingly are quite a distance in front. Other than that particular part, the movie is great!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteGood point Jono - hadn't noticed that myself. Isabella, hmmm - again, I hadn't picked up on that either, however it seems to me that it might be advantageous for them to have walked particularly slowly - as it would have given them more time together... :)
ReplyDeleteWell that is a good point. However it is Jane and Mr Bingley who are the slow walkers while Elizabeth and Darcy outstrip everyone. Which results in them getting rather far from the house meaning they had farther to walk back. They were also late by a few hours. That is the book btw, not the movies
ReplyDeleteAnd Jono, the pore girl most likely can't help squinting!
I..... I am speachless!!!!
ReplyDelete100% Lydia Bennett?????? Oh my! I think I have *some* common sense!!!!!!!!
Although, I guess the 85% Elizabeth Bennett is...rather tempering.
Which in turn is followed by a whopping 80% Mrs. Bennett. I think I should retake this quiz!
Yes... you need to either take the quiz again, or just conclude that it must be broken.
