I like a lot of what Glenn Beck has to say about the left in the U.S., and the economy... but he should keep his mouth shut about sports because he doesn't know what he's talking about. Listen to his arrogance below... if you can bear it.
Ummm I would like to interject here that I'm from the USA and my whole family loves soccer. My Dad and brothers watch it every chance they get, they also just got done (last weekend) with their spring soccer league. One of the boys in the league has flown to Africa to watch the Cup.
So while the USA might be behind the world in a love for soccer it is fast becoming adored, despite what Glenn says.
The running joke on Glenn's show is how woefully ignorant he is of ALL sports. Not kidding...ALL sports. I heard most all the comments he made during the World Cup and while I can understand how it would annoy people who love their football, it was done in fun and completely understood by regular listeners. I agree with the other "Anonymous" - many of us in the US love soccer, watched our kids grow up playing it and thoroughly enjoyed the World Cup - even after the US was eliminated. We don't all think the world ends at our borders and know very well that the rest of the world thinks we're crazy. Sadly, I agree with that after we elected Obama. We are crazy and going down fast and most of us know it. The arrogance is coming from our pitiful leaders, not from our people. God help us all.
I agree with Glenn's final comment.
ReplyDeleteI too guess that he isn't as culturally advanced.
What's his problem with curling and obsession with gold.
