  1. Hey Andy,

Check out nzdebate.blogspot.com to find out where I stand on the political compass !

  2. Freaky, I ended up one square into the red bit... weird! According to that I'm in the same bracket as Hitler... oh, in that case don't read that novel I'm writing - people might believe it.
Mind you I did it late as at night after writing hard core about politics, so it was warped. Phew.

  3. That is a concern, Theresa. Heheh, however given your respect for Winston Peters, I'm not all that surprised. Hmmm, try it again some other time maybe. I'm pretty happy with my spot on the compass. Will you put the chart on your blog so we can all see it?

Simeon... Mate, you're a tiny bit more Authoritarian than me, and a bit more to the right than me. Good stuff mate.

  4. Nah, I clicked the trusty little red X in the corner as quickly as possible. It was scary as, being in the red bit... Ewww! the disgust! it won't wash off!

  6. I thought that you might like to see where I ended up. I think it is a bit hard to tell coz I had no idea about some of the questions so I did a eni mini moni mo thing for them. hehe

  8. I ended up about 2 squares straight up from you. Not sure how good/bad that is - I'm not that familiar with the terms Libertarian and Authoritarian, although I'm using context clues :)
Some of the questions I wasn't too sure of, either.

  9. Liz - I used Wikipedia and Google on a couple of the questions - so I could find out what they meant!

Basically, libertarians say that the Government shoulud have less power, and Authoritarians say the Government should have more power. It's a really trickly line to draw in the sand. The recent anti-smacking law in New Zealand is a perfect example of an authoritarian Government (Nanny State as we call it).

2 squares up is cool. Puts you in about the same spot as Felicity (above)...

  10. I ended up 3 squares to the left, half a square down. Weird. Some of the questions were a bit frustrating though, and could have been answered in a number of ways. Ok, that's just me apologising for being slightly left-wing.

  11. Wow, so that's pretty left-wing, the only redeeming factor being a token libertarian influence...

I agree though, not all the questions were too easy to answer.
