worshipping at the altar of diversity

Eunice and Owen Johns are devoted foster parents with an unblemished record of caring for almost 20 vulnerable children. But they have been forced to abandon their good work because they refuse to tell children as young as ten that homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle. "It would go against their Christian beliefs." they said.

The couple's case comes at a time when there is a chronic shortage of foster parents, who work on a voluntary basis. Around 8,000 more are needed nationally.

At an assessment where they were applying to foster another child under the age of ten, they were told "Do you know you would have to tell them that it's ok to be homosexual?"

The new law in Britain is called The Equality Act (Sexual Orientation), and I can assure you that very soon there will be a bill before Parliament asking for such a law in New Zealand. It will begin with restrictions on what you can and cannot teach your foster-children, then the law will be applied to your natural children. Following this will come a restriction from teaching your child from the Bible. At around about this time, home-education will be made an illegal practice.

How is this law any different from one that insists that parents inform their children that bestiality is an entirely normal thing for them to engage in. Or a law that demands that parents allow their children to absolutely whatever they want, whatever harm they do to themselves or others - to restrict their freedoms would be to discriminate against them!

  1. More and more it creeps in. Government taking over the running of our lives, the choosing of our values. It usurps our community and family life, replacing our ties and responsibilities with beurocratic, cybernetic, prosthesis.

We need social revolution to turn back this tendency. And we need to do it before people forget how to be human.

Nothing you and I and Rodney Hide can't handle, Andy.
